Kedleston Country House Wedding Photography
Nat and Nick’s wedding at The Kedleston Country House was such a fun one to photograph — and a bit of a full-circle moment for me. Nat and I actually went to school together, but we hadn’t seen each other in years! Walking in and seeing her again, about to get married, felt surreal in the best way.
A Relaxed, Characterful Derbyshire Venue
The Kedleston Country House is a really lovely spot for a wedding. It sits on the edge of the Kedleston estate in Derbyshire and has that ideal mix of history, comfort and personality. Inside, the rooms feel warm and inviting, and outside you’ve got gardens that are perfect for guests to wander around with a drink.
It’s the sort of venue where people quickly relax and just settle into the day — great for documentary-style photos.
A Low-Light, Twilight Ceremony
Nat and Nick chose to have a twilight ceremony indoors, and it suited the whole vibe of the day perfectly. The room felt calm and intimate, and there was something really special about everyone gathering as the light dipped. No fuss, no rushing — just a really genuine moment between two people.
Straight Into the Gardens
Once the ceremony wrapped up, everyone headed outside into the garden area. The early evening light was perfect — soft enough to create atmosphere but still bright enough for people to enjoy being outdoors.
Guests spread out across the lawn with drinks, chatting, catching up and laughing. Nothing staged, nothing formal. Just people enjoying themselves, which always makes for the best candid moments.
A Laid-Back Day With Good People
What stands out about Nat and Nick’s wedding is how relaxed the whole day felt. The Kedleston Country House was a great match for them — stylish but not over the top or stuffy, friendly, comfortable and easy to move around.
It was a joy to photograph a day that was simple, genuine and full of familiar faces. And getting to capture Nat’s wedding after so many years made it even better!
