Back in April, I had the pleasure of returning to one of my favourite local venues—The Waterfront at Barton Marina—to photograph a beautiful wedding at The Crow’s Nest. As a wedding photographer in Staffordshire, it’s always a treat to shoot somewhere that combines stunning views with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. And this day was particularly special—it just so happened to be my birthday!
The Crow’s Nest at The Waterfront is one of those hidden gems in Staffordshire wedding venues. Overlooking the marina, it offers a tranquil setting that’s ideal for both candid and romantic portraits. The location means couples can stay close to the action—just a short walk from their guests—while still taking advantage of lovely backdrops for their photos. It’s an efficient and beautiful setting all in one.
The team at The Crow’s Nest were fantastic throughout the day. Everything ran smoothly thanks to their attention to detail, which makes such a difference not only for the couple but also for suppliers like myself. It meant I could focus entirely on capturing natural moments—from the emotional ceremony to all the spontaneous joy on the dance floor.
Photographing a wedding on my birthday might not be a typical celebration, but honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. There’s something really special about being surrounded by love and laughter while doing the job I adore.
