Peak Edge Hotel Wedding Photographer - Meena and Colin

Meena & Colin’s Wonderful Peak Edge Hotel Wedding.

One of the best parts of being a Derbyshire wedding photographer is the sheer variety of stories I get to witness—emotional, joyful, chaotic, and occasionally including a child with break-dancing skills worthy of a standing ovation. Meena and Colin’s wedding at the Peak Edge Hotel had all of that and more. A beautiful celebration blending Indian colour and tradition with classic English elegance, it was the perfect finale to my 2024 season.

Tucked just outside the Peak District, The Peak Edge Hotel is one of those venues that shines year-round. With sweeping views of the Derbyshire countryside and a mix of rustic charm and contemporary style, it offers endless possibilities for wedding photography—even on a brisk November day when your fingers go numb after five minutes outdoors!

Meena and Colin tied the knot in The Oak Room, the hotel’s elegant, light-filled event space complete with chandeliers, high ceilings, and its own private bar. It’s a great setting for a winter celebration—cosy yet grand, stylish without feeling overdone. The room opens out onto a private terrace and garden, which in warmer months would be ideal for sunset drinks. On this particular day, however, we managed a quick dash outside for portraits before retreating indoors like penguins escaping the cold.

The ceremony and reception were filled with heartfelt moments and joyful energy. From the traditional details to the contemporary styling, everything reflected Meena and Colin’s personalities and cultures coming together in the most thoughtful way. Their guests brought the energy too—with one standout performance from a young guest on the dance floor that genuinely left me in awe.

Let’s be honest, speeches can be hit or miss, but this lot got it just right. Colin delivered a particularly brilliant speech—a perfect mix of heart and humour that had the whole room laughing (and yes, even I was caught chuckling behind the lens).

As a Derbyshire wedding photographer, it’s always a treat to work at a venue like Peak Edge. The combination of beautiful interiors, fantastic staff, and panoramic views make it a great choice for couples who want a wedding day that feels special in every way—no matter what the weather’s doing outside.

Meena and Colin’s day was everything a wedding should be—joyful, heartfelt, and full of personality. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out the year. As I packed up and drove home through the frosty Derbyshire hills, I found myself smiling like someone who caught the bouquet by accident. A perfect end to a wonderful season.

If you're planning your own wedding at Peak Edge Hotel or another stunning spot in Derbyshire, and want relaxed, storytelling photography that captures every candid moment, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make some memories.
